Spectre
speck-tehr
Persuasive | Cultist of the Toxic Wastes | Hunter
tumblr_inline_o38gt6PJCN1r5syjm_250.png

Spectre is an adept hunter, able to blend into almost anything and strike without a sound at whatever she seeks, from meat to insects to sentient plants. This has earned her a good reputation and a high standing in the clan, especially among other adept hunters impressed by her abilities. This skill allows others to easily overlook her other hobbies and interests - specifically, her dedication to the Cult of the Forsaken, which was her own creation. Most dragons in the Wastes don't think much of it and assume it's just a personal quirk; all the same, most dragons in the Wastes aren't Tundras.

Longneck Hunter Spectre's familiar, a Longneck Hunter, lives nowhere close by and only visits with her on specific occasions. He lives in the Southern Icefields - which is the very reason the two became close. Rather than report on Beastclan movements to her, he tells her what is going on in the Icefields; clan movements, Icewarden sightings, and all manner of other reports constantly make their way back to her. The Lockneck seems eager to aid and has even pledged his alliance to the Cult of the Forsaken, believing wholeheartedly in Spectre's cause. He has little faith in dragon deities.

Backstory

Spectre was born in the Tangled Wood on the darkest night of the Riot of Rot. The celebration of disease and pestilence surrounding her hatching planted the seed that would eventually blossom into her desire to live in the Scarred Wasteland, where the celebration never ended. She maintained an interest in various Plague topics as a hatchling, and to this day gets along well with Samar for their similar interests.

When her birth clan began to fall apart as she aged, Spectre decided to travel Sornieth before settling down, and one of her first stops was to the home of her breed - the Southern Icefields. This was where the Cult began, and where Spectre took the first steps to becoming the dragon she is today.

It was a small band of Tundras that told her what she never would have known. They were without a lair, just wandering the snowy island in search of purpose when she stumbled upon them. She settled down with them for the night, eager to speak with her own brethren in the land of their creation, and it was then that the eldest of the group told her a hushed rumor that had just barely made its way through the Icefields and hardly anywhere else.

"The Icewarden is ashamed of us," he said. "He has forsaken us."

He told a tale of how the Icewarden had meant to create a perfect breed to suit the land, just as the other deities had, only to find himself stuck with what would become the Tundra - a fluffy, forgetful beast not generally suited for combat. Disappointed, he turned his back to his creations, never showing compassion or care for them.

Without even considering the possibility that this may not be true, Spectre became enraged. She spoke with the other Tundras through the night about their plight, and over time, managed to convince them that they deserved so much more. She vowed to them that she would change things - that they could all change things together - and then left for the Scarred Wasteland, disgusted by the home of the Icewarden.

She found an easy home in the Toxic Wastes and set up the official hub of the Cult of the Forsaken in a cave not too far from the lair. The aim is to create an army and rise up in defiance of the Icewarden - whether or not she is actually capable of making this happen has yet to be seen. Still, she tries to convert every Tundra she meets, and often holds meetings in the dead of night when her other clanmates are asleep.

To this day, her cause continues to grow in number...
