The spiral flew away from his clan and into the shifting expanse and found a clan of sparkling dragons AureumAura went and trained in the coliseum by a traveling imperial Sunblaze(sorry if you can't see him he is a traveler) and a green nocturne ServiceBerry and he trained to level 9. Aureum then was paired up with a Imperial and bred with her. After taking care of his hatchlings (who hatched 3 days before X-mas) for awhile he said his goodbyes to the clan and flew away to travel more.

Eventually, Aureum found his way to a small clan in the Southern Icefields. They accepted him warmly, and while he was there the traveller took a keen interest in the doings of the clan's alchemist, Heather. Heather ignored Aureum at first, deigning him unlikely go provide her with anything of value. But when he used his previous coliseum training to help bring her a rare ingredient she needed to alchemize a high-level brew, the coniving nocturne decided he might be worth something to her after all. She befriended Aureum, teaching him about her craft and getting the spiral- naturally inclined towards curiosity by nature of being arcane flight- thoroughly engrossed in the complexities of alchemy.

When the time came that he finally succeeded in creating a living being- which he decided to keep as a pet- Heather gifted Aureum with a pair of silver cuffs, declaring him a true scientist. Excited as a kid at Chrismas, Aureum promised to devote his travels to learning as much as he could about alchemy from as many lairs as he could convince to teach him the craft. Taking his new pet, whom he named Blooey, the arcane spiral departed Heather's clan with a newly awakened drive to learn.
