Avali was one of the first few dragons to join Talva and help her create Clan Buffelgrass. When he first met Talva and Hark, Avali was a ridgeback-- he had been a mirror until a short delve into magic. After Talva and company found the current location on the Ashfall Waste's Southeastern shore, they encountered Verismo. The somewhat powerful mage spitefully revealed Avali's true form-- a nocturne-- before joining the clan. He usually uses the ridgeback form because of his role as a warrior. Avali declares himself the clan bodyguard; he helps train those who want to help him defend the clan and keeps track of all significant weapons within the clan. After many years of week-long relationships, Avali eventually settled down with Aldric, one of the first clan members.
