Zhao comes from an amazing mother of strong arcane abilites. Circe adopted him while he was wandering lost and afraid in the arcane lands from which Clan Taketaki had stayed for many years. That is where Zhao had called home for many many years, watching his mother take on strong and amazing feats of magic, only becoming more insecure about himself.
Zhao learned from his mother, and he grew afraid of his own magic, and of others finding out his abilities, so he ran. As the clan moved to the wind territory, Zhao disappeared. He spent the abundance of his young years wandering, begging for shelter and being kicked out of clans for showing no abilities or strengths, so he continued.
Distressed, alone and starving for a home, Zhao stumbled into the Aloe Caves on the verge of starvation. It was Imp who nursed him back to health.
If you ever confronted Zhao about his abilities, he would deny them and then probably curse you and all of your children. He's not your normal magic castor. He does his best to hide his abilities from the general public, since when one person finds out suddenly everyone and their granddragon will want a potion or a spell and its so annoying.
He sleeps a lot in the clan, and is currently raising a litter of Kittens that had sort of adopted him as a dad.
He confronted his growing crush in an accident of awful proportions. Zhao never learned to properly channel his emotions with his magic, having never had to face that issue before, until the threat came to Imp, the imperial who had cared for him and kept him company in many lonely days. There had been a threat. A pack of mirrors had latched onto Imp, looking to kill.
Zhao grew furious, mostly in fear for the one he loved. His magic erupted and he ended up killing all of the mirrors that had attacked Imp. There were no survivors. It wasn't until after the magic had cleared did Zhao realize exactly what he had done.
He had killed them.
He sought out his mother again, afraid to have that happen again. Self blaming and suffering with his mistakes, he was afraid of letting Imp close though he allowed the Imperial to follow him to his home clan.
Comet - Messenger - Solid Black
Comet is the fastest cat in all of Ice Flight. If there are shortcuts, she knows how to use them, and she never seems to tire out from running at top speed. For this reason, she’s been designated as a messenger. Dragons hand her notes, tell her where to take them, and off she goes!
Smudge - Alchemist’s Assistant - Black Tuxedo
Smudge is the alchemist’s assistant and always seems just a bit lost. He tries his best, but sometimes his urge to knock all the ingredients off the shelves into the pot gets the best of him. It’s okay though, because the alchemist loves him anyway.
Cantaloupe - Watch Cat - Orange Tabby
Cantaloupe has a lot to say! If she sees something unusual or suspicious, she screams. If she notices someone doing something they don’t normally do, she screams. Sometimes she stares at the wall and yells because that’s just her personality. aaaaaaaaaaa!!!! Fortunately, as a watch cat, this is her job, so it’s okay.
Hopscotch - Watch Cat - Grey and White Tabby
Hopscotch is extra curious, spending most of her time going out to explore the fortress grounds. She just loves the courtyards - climbing trees, jumping on dragons’ tails, chasing the guards around in circles until they pet her - all in a day’s work for an important watch cat like her!
