Biography
Quote:
The screams still echo in Nightfall’s ears.
Nightfall was but a simple warrior in his birth clan when disaster struck the Focal Point in the Starfall Isles. A massive horde of creatures -mutated and unrecognizable from their original forms due to exposure to radiation and raw Arcane magic- attacked the clans of the Focal Point. The abominations slaughtered anything in their path, be it a Familiar, prey, or a defenseless hatchling.
Two clans had already been decimated before the horrors swarmed Nightfall’s birth clan. All the Snapper could do was try his best to aid his clanmates as they attempted to organize and combat the mutated creatures.
Their offense was a complete and utter failure. The ground was stained red with blood, and though it has been many days since then, their screams are still fresh in Nightfall’s mind.
Battered and bleeding, Nightfall was forced to retreat, and managed to find a hiding spot. He could only watch as the horde began to feast upon their prey, growling and hissing amongst themselves.
The sight, to this day, still gives him nightmares.
As Nightfall stared with complete horror, the roar of a dragon shattered the tense quiet. New dragons swarmed the now clan-less lair, battling the horde and ending them where they stood. It was a coalition of many clans, all from different Flights, to combat the threat which could threaten their regions’ livelihood as well.
Reinvigorated by these new allies, Nightfall rejoined the battle. If he couldn’t save his own clan, he was at least going to prevent the same disaster from happening to another clan.
The fighting was just as tough, but eventually it ended with the dragons standing victorious. Nightfall was so injured -and so relieved that the ordeal was over- that he collapsed to the ground, much to the concern of the other dragons.
After some debate, it was a Water clan that stepped forward to tend to Nightfall’s wounds and offer him a new home. Though grieving for his old clan, the Snapper was grateful and gladly went with them to the Sea of a Thousand Currents. It was a refreshing (if rather wet) change.
From that day forward Nightfall dedicated himself to his adopted clan, training to be an even more skilled warrior and sentinel. He owed it to them for taking him in and making him feel like he had a home again. Nightfall vowed to protect and serve his new clanmates, carrying the mantle with pride and knowing with unflinching certainty that he would never let anything happen to them under his watch.
Nightfall still holds the memory of his birth clan in his heart. And he always will, though their faces are slowly fading from his mind...
