Born from cinders, ash, and fire, Pyre emerged from pools of lava from the Emberglow Hearth. When he rose from the liquid fire, a Molten Marauder named Ponpi rose with him, a sign that Pyre was born with purpose for the Flamecaller's needs. From hatchling to adult, Ponpi has been with him, protecting him from any and all who would do him harm and impede his purpose.

And yet the biggest obstacle to Pyre is that he has absolutely no idea what his mission is. Ponpi doesn't know either. What would the Flamercaller have planned for a simple mirror? Pyre's contemplations and aimless wandering led him through The Shifting Expanse and past the Sunbeam Ruins and into The Tangled Woods where his fiery light disturbed the shadows of the Shadowbinder who did not take kindly to a messenger of a rivaling Deity encroaching upon her land and lighting up her darkness.

Rather than attack Pyre, the mother of shadows hid among her trees and watched. Pyre happened upon Virlym by chance and decided to rest his talons there for the night, enchanted by it's hospitality and colorful characters. The atmosphere was so inviting and calm, but over and over Ponpi reminded him of a duty that possibly didn't even exists as far as he was concerned. With the Shadowbinder watching closely and Pyre unmotivated to do his duty, what will befall the mirror of fire so far from home?
