Biography

Plaguebringer Bone Scrimshaw

Rotterra
The Infected
Rotterra - Rotted land
20177.png
A dead dragon walking; Rotterra was found half-buried in the rot at the very edge of the Wyrmwound. How she got there and why was never solved, but it's believed she was a exaltation gone wrong. She was retrieved from the infected soil and brought back to the clan's lair, where she was declared dead.

She was strange from the moment she opened her eyes. Everyone noted how she seemed hollow, animalistic, aggressive and confused. She never played like other hatchlings, ate like other hatchlings, slept like other hatchlings. After looking into the matter, Hamatis and Magiatenebris concluded she had died and been reanimated by a mysterious force that they didn't recognize.

Despite this, the clan homed her. She slowly became more like the dragons she lived around, but never became less aggressive and apathetic. She became loyal to the clan she cared for her, and then became loyal to the dragon she came to know as her mate. She found the dragon Spectre among the waste, and they connected. They had a similar worldview, similar values, and Spectre seemed fond of her and her story, which was something she was unfamiliar with.

Rotterra and Spectre have a nasty habit of rejecting their own children, either chucking them into the Wyrmwound or abandoning them in the wilds to fend for themselves. The criteria for who gets to stay and who dies is a mystery to everyone else in the clan, But there must be something that makes a hatcling worth keeping in their eyes, as they have two children they kept, Malitiae and Messorem.
