Lavana had been chosen for her talent with poetry. Her voice, clear as a running spring, transformed silence into a beautiful rhyme and melody. Her talent caught the attention of Azorius, who was then the clan's Storyteller. After a few reels together, they realized they worked well with each other. A partnership began then, with Azorius telling his tales and Lavana adding her rhymes to them. A year passed, and it became clear to all who knew them that Lavana and Azorius had become mates. But such peace was not to last. The Flamecaller was angered, and she punished the clan with meteors from space. Lavana had been doing one of her story reels when this happened, and there was no escape for her, for she was in one of the innermost dens of their lair. A meteor struck the roof and it caved in, falling upon the Imperial with a devastating explosion. The last thing Lavana felt was pain, and then darkness. "What's happening? Azorius? Where are you?" "I'm scared...." ________________________________________ |

"Oh, how beautiful a lie."
Lavana lost her audience, along with her voice. Her body is paralyzed from waist down, and her wings are broken beyond repair. She could no longer sing her poems and every movement hurt and burned like fire. Never before had Lavana felt such pain and anger. Why should she pay for her clan's doing? She had not encouraged the path of dominance the Clan of Valour chose. She'd simply been a member of the clan, and punished because she was. During the days of her waking she was furious, depressed and thoroughly confused. Slowly, Lavana's tears dried and her anger faded. She saw that there was no use complaining about her situation, so she forced herself to open her eyes and help rebuild the clan. While her mate Azorius sought out those eager to prove themselves, she looked for those who wanted nothing but a home. She knew her mate desired chaos -- a chaos so great it would imprison the clan and prevent its destruction -- and she did not approve of his plans. To counter his chaos, she found those who desired peace, and with them, she hoped to clear the eyes of Azorius and let him see that their clan did not need wars to keep it restrained. But something deep within her told her it was useless. It was as if a part of her already knew the Azorius she loved and respected had died with the old Clan of Valour. This husk of an Imperial was no longer the Imperial she'd chosen to be mates with. That was why when a relationship developed between him and Midnight, Lavana did not complain and took a new mate of her own -- Phlegon. Azorius created the Calm Chapter in retaliation to Lavana's Fire Chapter, and Lavana knows this despite the claims her former mate put up. She knows it is a desperate time. It was life and death within the clan. It was war. She knows that Azorius plans to use the new clan members as tools, as a barrier between his cowardly self and the great Mather. In contrast, the Fire Chapter seeks to regain the Mather's favor, to prove to her that the Clan of Valour was worthy of her love and attention. Under Lavana's leadership, the chapter of fire seeks to bring peace to the clan and the minds of the dragons within it.
"Mather, please forgive us. Please let us come back to you. Please..."
