The clan was packing up. They were moving to the forest and rubble around the Mirrorlight Promenade, in Light territory.
She furrowed her brows and picked harder. What kind of pathfinder would she be without the stars, or the distinct mapping of magic that the Starwood Strand had? What would she do without the mystery and intrigue of the way mana twisted and formed the landscape? There wasn't any place quite like the Arcane flight. Wouldn't it be boring anywhere else?
She paused in thought when a small moonlight colored petal landed on her arm. It glittered coldly in contrast to her dark scales. And just like that, it drifted off again with the slightest breeze. She stared at the dancing petal until it vanished from sight.
...
Andromeda raised her head rather suddenly. What in the world was she thinking? Her clan needed her! The Light territory was full of the unknown, of places to explore and map. Secrets were bound to be abundant in its darker ruins. And from what she heard, most scholars were too obsessed with the architecture out in the sun to see what lay under the cover of nature or shadow. There would be so much more to see, to experience, to live. Boring? Hardly.
She uncoiled and slithered down the tree in a hurry, energy renewed and mind clearer. She took a few bounding leaps but then paused. Just for a moment. And looked back. The night sky above carried the constellations she knew by heart and bright, beautiful nebulae decorated some of the dark in between. The forest imitated it, aglow with magic and silvery flowers.
Arcane wouldn't be forgotten.

Andromeda sat loosely curled around the lanky branches of her "star tree"- her
thinking place, her little private piece of space near the sky. She scratched idly at a loose curl of faintly opalescent bark, feeling rather anxious. The clan was packing up. They were moving to the forest and rubble around the Mirrorlight Promenade, in Light territory.
