Biography

The snapper hatchling drops the stick in their mouth and looks up at Amethyst, who nods encouragingly. The wind blows, slightly smudging the words the hatchling had written in the sand at Churnscar Wharf. Behind them is a busy port, filled with dragons on the move. Amethyst spreads a wing and the hatchling comes tumbling towards her, staying close to her as they make their way back to the save.

"Do you think I'll ever find a home?" The hatchling asks.

"Are we not your home?" Amethyst teases.

The hatchling nudges her leg with their head. "You know what I mean!" The hatchling squeals, and Amethyst laughs.

"Everyone finds a home eventually," Amethyst assures. "Where do you want to live?"

"I don't know," the hatchling admits. They look up Hewn City, structures just visible over the top of the cliff. "Maybe there!"

"I think they'd be very lucky to have you," Amethyst smiles at the hatchling. "You're going to have to grow big and strong to make your way up the cliff!"

"I will!" The hatchling puffs their chest out boldly. "I'm going to be the strongest snapper! Stronger than Armik!"

"I know you will be!" Amethyst encourages. They duck their heads as they cross beneath a bridge. "Let's go home. I'm sure some of your friends are waiting for you."

"We're going to play-wrestle!" The hatchling announces, and walks with a bounce in their steps all the way home.
