Biography
Jezebeth
Jezebeth Quill Archivist | Golden Amaranth Dancers
Jezebeth has always been somewhat shy, and gravitated toward the archives of Renegade Clan early on. Quiet, isolated, inviolable, they were the perfect environment for a timid and uncertain hatchling that preferred the company of books and scrolls to the company of her peers. When Nisroc realized that he could not keep her out, he chose instead to train her, and she has been an exceptional student. She is especially good at organization and classification, and has a sharp mind and good memory. Her tall, graceful build makes her well-suited to dancing, as well as reaching scrolls and books on high shelves. Jezebeth is fond of watching the stars. As a native of Ice Flight, the chill of the high mountains does not trouble her much, and she can often be found outdoors on clear nights, watching the lights in the sky on their slow, eternal dance. Jezzie and Sela are partners. Sela's teaching her to dance, and Jezzie is teaching her to catalog rare items in the clan's hoard and encouraging her to read more. Before Sela's arrival, Jezebeth paid little attention to her appearance. She was much more focused on her studies -- mostly history -- and wanted to avoid the attentions of the males who sought her company due to her beauty. It took a beautiful young dancer to finally turn her head. She read to Sela during her recovery, forming a fast friendship. Intrigued by Sela's tales of dancing and life on the road with her troupe, Jezebeth asked for a few lessons, and found that she enjoyed dancing immensely. It brought her out of her shell and helped make her more comfortable with herself. Now that she is partnered with Sela, she dyes and highlights her fur and feathers to make her coloring more dramatic for performances, and takes pains to keep her fur satiny soft and her feathers smooth. She no longer fears drawing attention to herself. Sela has taught her that beauty should never be hidden. Familiar: Moonwisp Moonwisp is an enormous and prodigiously old Bramblekeep liberated from Beastclans captivity during a skirmish and brought back to Clan headquarters to recuperate before being sent north, back to Shadow Flight country. She stayed in the nursery as she recovered, gaining back her strength, and the hatchlings enjoyed her presence as a sort of night light, and frequently used her as a blanket. Even the little Fae babies sheltered under her luminous fungal growths, and the young guardians enjoyed playing tug of war with her massive bramble limbs. Moonwisp formed an especially close bond with shy but clever little Jezebeth, and the two became inseparable. The two dote on one another still. Though great in years, Moonwisp has the heart of a much younger bear and delights in playing games with friends. She can still be found in the nursery from time to time playing with the little ones. She prefers darkness, like all of her kind, and when neither hatchlings nor Jezebeth require her presence, she naps in the stone tunnels near the forges where the warm bedrock soothes her bones. Companion: Glimmerdown Little Glimmerdown arrived in the clan's lair among a shipment of dark creeper and subterranean clover intended for the clan's botanist. Fearful at first, she went to the nearest familiar thing -- the vast and terrible Bramblekeep, Moonwisp. She immediately sought shelter under the enormous ursine's fungal growths and remained there, hiding, for quite some time. Jezebeth was eventually able to tempt the little creature out with tidbits of wisp fruit and a lot of patience. Half-starved, the poor thing could barely grow, and required some tender loving care to grow into the large, healthy, mischievous thing she is today. While still closest to Moonwisp, Glimmerdown enjoys roaming here, there, and everywhere. Since Moonwisp is rather sedentary, she does this in the company of Jezebeth. It is likely that when Moonwisp has comfortably finished out her years, Glimmerdown will become Jezebeth's new familiar. |
