Ceramis
Clan Scavenger Ceramis, the main scavenger of the clan. No one is better than him, when it comes to scavenging. He is gifted with the ability to find cool things, but is tortured by the curse of clumsiness. He can and will trip over nothing, or maybe it’s air? He has lived with it since he was born, and it is often the main reason for why no one wants to have his kids. Most thought that either the kids would have his clumsiness, or that he would kill them himself by tripping on top of them. It wasn’t until one day that he had tripped in the right spot to find (maybe) the love of his life... ![]() Quote:
"Ugff." Ceramis' body landed flat on the ground - he face planted into the mud; it had rained the morning before. An uncommon occurrence in the Wasteland.
“Are you ok, sir?” “Yeah,” he got up and tried to wipe off the mud. He looked up in mid-sentence and stopped, “I was just –” he looked at a beautiful, glossy Skydancer like himself (ignoring the mud). He couldn’t help himself from staring at her. “Um, sir you’re staring at me.” Her mouth quirked a little, settling into a small smirk. Her eyes sparkled with slight, if wary, interest. It wasn't everyday that another dragon stared at the older Skydancer. “Oh, uh sorry. I didn’t mean to stare, but you’re so beautiful.” Anyone could have seen the drool and his wagging tail from a mile away; he was interested in her and if someone had seen it they would be able to tell right away. “Thank you.” She blushed and moved some feathers out of her face, “So, what’s your name?” she said still blushing. She hadn't been courted in many seasons. “Ceramis.” He responded quickly, blinking. “Mines Hazelnut.” their names set the conversation off, like fireworks. They talked for hours upon hours, then it was night before they knew it. “Oh, well I should be going. I have to take these back for inventory.” He pointed to the small pile of scavenged things; he had been too busy talking to her rather than continuing his job. “Okay, can I see you tomorrow?” she asked, as he was picking his things up. “Uh, I don’t know, yet.” He was scared that she wouldn’t want to be with him once she knew just how clumsy he was. He picked up the pace, keeping his eyes on his small collection of items. “Okay, well I’ll come back here at noon and if you’re not here in 30 minutes then I will leave.” She told him, before walking toward her clan, which was in the opposite direction of his own clan. “Okay.” He whispered, while walking away as well. His smile disappeared and they both had their backs to each other. He hung his head the whole trip back. He knew that he wouldn’t go tomorrow; he was too scared to face her again. When Ceramis had gotten back to the clan he did what he told Hazelnut he was doing; the inventory. Once he was done with that he tried to play with the hatchlings to fill the sorrow inside him; it didn’t exactly do it though. The clan’s future leader, the Princess, saw how Ceramis was with the hatchlings and knew that something was up. She gently walked up to him, stared into his eyes, and left as quietly and quickly as she had come. The next two days, the Princess and her guard were out, and no one knew why or where. It was their first departure from the clan, since their joining it. On the third day both came back, but not alone; Hazelnut was with them. Ceramis ran – or rather tripped on his face again, and then walked over to the Princess and Hazelnut, as the guard had already taken his leave. “What is she doing here?” he asked the Princess, Veilerris. He tried not to sound rude to her. All she said was, “I’m home.” From her response Ceramis knew what just happened and his eyes widened: she joined the clan for him. Even though she was older than him and had children somewhere out there, she still wanted to be with him. “I asked her to.” Veilerris told him simply and then walked off. Now whereever one of them goes the other follows, even when Ceramis is on the clock. They don’t talk as much as that first night they had met, but instead they have more of a telepathic link, they know what each other are thinking. |
