There were many tunnels left behind, honeycombing the sides of the drop going into The Rift. It's Coal that happily explores and excavates in these. He treats each like a new archaeological dig, and has recovered many relics, however ruined and worthless, from the clan that inhabited this place. In particular he has found many new veins of pink chalcedony, something long thought to be native to the Starfall Isles.

Between Coal and Aeria, the clan now knows too well the effects of prolonged exposure to the energies of The Rift. While a short-term visit can be of magical use, if not totally uneventful, too many hours tallied up will produce something like...

Coal insists it doesn't hurt, that he doesn't need mending or healing. He claims he can't even notice the burnt, ozone stink anymore!

He is followed by a happy little blob. He insists it's part of himself that fell right off, though, he can't recall what part it might be. If he can't remember, it can't have been important! It's fine.
