“I’m sure that this is troubling and probably going to land you in an ocean of tears; I just don’t care.”

While many dragons view slacking off and having fun as a part of a healthy life, Alpha views it as laziness and a luxury he doesn’t need. Time spent doing nothing is time wasted, and Alpha feels that those who decide to waste time when they should be doing something just to end up frantically scrabbling to finish their project deserve their self-brought stress.

He does, however, make some allowances, especially where Chase is concerned. The spiral often, and quite literally, ropes him into adventuring or doing some meaningless task all for the sake of enjoyment, and while Alpha likes to mutter darkly about all the useful things he could be doing, he truly does enjoy his time spent outside Clan walls.

His productive and usually unhealthy nature comes from previous Clan life, where he and many others were brutally controlled and manipulated by a power thirsty dragoness in order to achieve her rather out of reach goals. She stripped away their names and assigned them military codes, and to this day Alpha has no clue what his true name is. All tasks set by her had to be completed and completed well, no matter what, and those who failed were punished harshly; Alpha usually bearing the brunt for being the leader of his squad. Most of the time, Alpha had no time for self-care and eventually began to view things such as sleep, hunger and hygiene as trivial until the day he and others escaped.

Even now he still hold these habits, and they’re habits that his Clan mates try to break every single day by bringing him food or gently pulling him from whatever project he’s invested in so he can bathe and sleep. It’s still a struggle, but there are improvements every day, and one day his Clan hopes that he may begin to view himself as someone who deserves to relax and enjoy life, rather than slowly drive himself into the ground.
