Biography
Iasia is creation itself, and the origin of all. She did not need to be 'born' from anyone or anything, as she is birth itself. Mortarion, Death, was born simultaneously with her, and is her shadow and reflection. Everything starts with her, and ends with him.
Iasia is the 'mother' of all the deities. First came Istarex and Aialen. Iilit from her breath, Nemunas from her tears, Zeme from her body and bones, and finally, Crelic, Cham, and Moria from her blood. Having thus left her body behind, Iasia went down to her brother, and now resides in his realm. Eventually, all of creation will join her there. Although Iasia herself is gone, she left her mark on the world, and creation continues without her. Life begets life, and inventiveness develops knew things each day.
Altars/Shrines: None. Iasia is never directly worshipped, as she is down in Mortarion's realm. Proper honor will be done to her when all of life is reunited there. Nevertheless, Temples will usually have a central fire, to represent Iasia. Fire, a non-deity element and creation of dragons, is a symbol of inventiveness, ingenuity, and creativity.
Offerings: None. No objects are given to Iasia directly. Instead, she is honored through the act of creation- having children, prolonging life by caring for others, creating art, inventing new tools, etc. Moments of inspiration are said to be 'sparks of Iasia'.
Epithets: Creation, of-Beginings, Starter, Lost Goddess, Prime, Opener, Mother, First
