A gruff but kindhearted man who runs a vast orchard in the centre of the Ever-Autumn Woods.
At times, he's frustrated with his mate's need to give to every dragon she meets, but he never holds it against her and tries to be just as welcoming.
Whereas Apple focuses on baking with their wonderful produce, Cider specializes in - as you might have guessed - brewing.
The spirits and drinks he produces have always been popular within the small Ever-Autumn community, but once Amberspire took possession of the forest town, his brews have begun shipping worldwide.

- Hatchling Biography

One of the original Children of the Forest. Cider - then nameless - grew up running and playing in the endless, fire-coloured leaves, Autumn in his heart and soul.
Apple was there as well, and they had always been the best of friends. Just like her, he could not remember his parents from that time, only that there was surely someone or thing looking after him.

- Adolescent Biography

His love for the forest and for Apple only deepened, but he grew callous to the rest of the world, and visitors from the outside.
He felt a desperate need to give back to the forest that he'd grown up safely in, and so began to care for and maintain the trees. In what seemed like a response, the ones he frequented began to bear apples, which he in turn began to harvest.

He and Apple built a home together and began to make use of the fruit.

It was at some point during this time that they took their names, knowing their importance.

- Adult Biography

For years the two coatls lived together amongst the other original forest denizens, enjoying the peace and quiet and making delicious food and drink for their tiny, isolated village. They and the forest were happy, and times were simple and good.

And then, one day, Karai came. And their world changed.

Cider remembers how the forest used to be, and despises what has become of it - and Amberspire, for being the cause.

He continues his work, for he knows it's one of the few things he can do to help his beloved forest, ailing as it is.
