Originally from a clan in the Sunbeam Ruins with her sister, Athena was a heavily trained and skilled warrior, but completely hated the clans of the Light domain. She later met Jack, who had the same hate, and made her a promise that Athena, her sister and Jack would get out.
Years later, after Jack moved to the Scarred Wasteland, he went back to Athena and hired her as his warrior, which she accepted without thinking twice. Taking over a small weak Plague clan with the help of Gortys, which she doesn't completely agree with, but is ready to act for her sister. With those actions, Jack was able to become king of the clan, and her sister was brought into the clan; but Jack soon starting the war with the Wind flight of Outage. After the truce, Athena decided to lay down her weapons, which Jack does not accept. With the help of one of his mage, she was affected with Berserk to clean the rest of the lair and, in the frenzy, accidentally killed her sister, only realizing the horror when she settled down.
Shocked and upset, Athena ran away to find find refuge, which she did in Outage's lair. Despite the king being in a truce with Jack, he accepted to hide her in his clan when she realized she has nowhere else to go. In exchange, she became his best gladiator, and mate of Janey.
