For someone whose job basically amounts to "clan mailman", Splotch sure takes his work seriously. He tells anyone who asks why this is that mail is the foundation of society and if not delivered on time the entire clan would fall apart! Of course, getting to peek into other people's letters is a perk of the job, a small price to pay for such an essential service. And he's always willing to share any juicy gossip he finds... if you're willing to part with your cash, that is.

Outside of his oh so important job, Splotch is somewhat of an artist, constantly scribbling portraits of interesting dragons he meets in the large sketchbook he always carries around with him. Many pages of this book and the others he's already filled are dedicated to portrait after portrait his best friend and partner, Dabble. The two consider themselves "mutual muses", as in, they inspire each other to create their art. Many others in the clan find this overly sappy and vomit inducing.

Recently, Splotch has begun to break away from simple sketching, moving into the world of 3D art. After creating a pair of marionettes to act as familiars for himself and Dabble, he's been considering quitting the job he cares about so much to take a shot at the big time in the circus as a puppeteer. He's yet to find a worthy successor to take the coveted title of Messenger, however, and refuses to quit until he can trust he's leaving the job in the right hands.
