THE CALL OF THE VOID — THE PLAGUEMOTHER'S CHILD

A construct given life, created from blood, pestilence, and powerful magic...
With the Shade plague threatening the lives and reputations of the Plague Flight, the Plaguebringer decided to tip things in favour of her children by creating a new acolyte to roam the Scarred Wastelands and defend its inhabitants. And so a formless being born from magic appeared from the Wyrmwound, much to the terror and confusion of the Ancient Lairs.
The being took the shape of a young Wildclaw to represent harmony between the usually warring sister flights of Nature and Plague, taking a female form though it had no true gender.
Every inch of the dragon shone like the most brilliant rubies, scales of crystalline blood impervious to magic and physical attacks alike.
In the earliest days she had no name, known only as the Plaguemother's Child.
Even as rumours began to spread from the Wyrmwound; slowly, with the meagre passage from the Ancient Lairs to the outer Plaguelands, other whispers became apparent. Talk of a child made of blood and accompanied by one of the Mother's guardians came from as far as the outskirts of the Wandering Contagion, but no further. This being had a mission, and it involved the furthest reaches of the Scarred Wasteland.
As the Shade Plague spread, the being came for the Shade-touched of smaller clans. She was small, yes, but wielding fearsome Plague magic, there were few who could truly stand up to her, though she only ever attacked those possessed by the Shade.
In the presence of other dragons for the first time, the being had little time for pleasantries. She explained her mission and stayed a night with each purged clan before vanishing without trace in the morning.
To other dragons, something about the child felt... off. It was as if her very presence seemed to call, a seductively destructive whisper that they felt sure would only lead to their doom, or the Wyrmwound. It was then that she was first named, L'appel du Vide. The call of the Void.
The Child became Vide, and so she would stay.
Once the Shade Plague escaped to the other Flight lands, only then did the being cease her goddess-given mission to eradicate the shade-touched. Combined, Plague were successfully fighting off the dark disease and she was no longer in immediate need.
She came to the Abiding Boneyard for its peace. Instead, she encountered a far larger female Wildclaw, crowned in bones and with the same crystalline wings as herself.
The stranger introduced herself as the Lady Vibrance, Ruler of the Plagued Breeze Clan of Rotrock Rim with her mate, Kaden. She already knew of Vide.
At first the being was wary, but she soon found herself somehow becoming fond of the group of misfits, who had all followed the Plaguebringer's call regardless of their previous flights.
With no mission, she gladly pledged herself in service to the spirited Plague clan.
And so the deity-kissed being of blood and disease, Child of the Plaguemother, came to find a home amongst those who also knew the call of the Wyrmwound.
Peace, or the Scarred Wasteland's equivalent.
At least, for now.
