Be wary of those who watch you from the shadows.
Some may seek to harm you.

Once a gifted mage, Starfish searched for the means to cure-all, to purge his clan of sickness...
His work spanned for ages. His clan worried over his disappearance into the depths of his lair, but the wards he had put up were difficult to break, and rigged with traps.

So they waited. And they waited.

And one dawn, there was a loud rumble and his lair collapsed into silt. Surewing dug into the lair frantically, finally managing to unearth a dirty lump that shivered and spasmed.
There was a banded darksteel collar around his neck, glowing with unknown runes, and as Surewing dug him out, he saw the horror that had sunk into his shoulder.

Starfish was cursed.
