Singularity
Singularity was born as what some might call a “mistake”. He was a half angel, something that was not very commonly heard of among most others. However, the other angels accepted him and declared him an equal. For a while he lived among them, happy just like all the others, but soon their feelings towards him started to change. Singularity didn’t notice it at first, he didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, but slowly the other angels began to despise him. Happily however, Singularity went about life like nothing was wrong, until one day. The day that the angels decided to exile him from Heaven. Singularity was crushed. He had always been kind, harboring good intentions and the kind of happiness and kind-heartedness that would have helped everyone around him stay smiling. But now he was just confused. Angry faces started at him wherever he turned, so Singularity decided to leave. His confusion had turned to anger, anger at all the angels who cast him out with nothing. With no idea where to head, he turned towards the underworld. He turned towards Hell. No dragons there accepted him either, and the fallen half angel was forced to live in secret and survive by himself in the depths of the darkness. Unknown to others, he started to grow in strength after his exile. Singularity, the once kind dragon, had his heart streaked with darkness and anger. Anger towards the inhabients of Heaven and Hell, anger towards the dragons who exiled him and wouldn’t let him into their home. Anger that one day he hopes he can release. And he silently hopes that one day, he will be truly accepted somewhere once again.

Emptiness

Singularity was scared. Scared, and utterly crushed. He felt betrayed, betrayed by the ones he trusted and had keen kind to all his life. But suddenly, it seemed they had a change of heart. Singularity glanced around, shifting slightly, his purple eyes shifting under the cover of his mask. A strange emptiness filled him. He was all alone in the depths of the underworld. He could remember how he fled there, heartbroken from his exile. He remembered pleading and asking if he could stay there with the others who roamed Hell. And he remembered the cruel refusal. Singularity slumped down onto the ground, trembling ever-so slightly. He could remember all the faces of his friends, all the angelic fellows who use to see him as an equal, but as tears blurred his eyes all he could see were their snarls and glares. Their anger towards him, a failure to his kind. A traitor. And now, there he was. All alone, wanted by no one, half an angel hiding from everyone. He lifted off his mask and brushed tears away from his eyes. Singularity stood up shakily, taking a deep breath. He had to be strong. He had to survive. Then, maybe one day, he thought as he stared forwards, I’ll be accepted by someone again.

The Final Hours

THESE ARE THE FINAL HOURS
these are the final hours
this was the last conversational phrase spoken to him before the fall. the last time his former angelic fellows had seen him as an equal, instead of a failiure, a traitor.
the time is nearly upon us
was the heavenly rebellion fated to fail from the start? did destiny conspire against them, twisting in her divine, conniving, and cruel design to throw the balance of the cosmos so off-kilter, so deeply and irrevocably wrong?
it was an honor to fight beside you
the last words he spoke in those luscious, golden, dulcet baritone, the voice of something ethereal, otherworldly, a far cry from the rasping whisper to which he now was relegated.
a pity really...
had they just surrendered the first time, he wouldn't be forced to involve the Old.
