Rhodonite left his childhood clan early in life to explore Sornieth and learn all he could about Arcane magic. Rhodonite traveled with a warlock for a brief time as an apprentice. The warlock was a surly fellow who loved to yell at Rhodonite for getting things wrong rather than actually teaching him. Rhodonite got fed up quickly. One nigh, Rhodonite deserted their camp- but not without stealing one of the warlock's beautiful crystals. Unfortunately, Rhodonite's common sense and ability to detect malicious magic were both poor- at best. When he tried to use the crystal on his own, a terrible curse was place on him. His physical body became unstable, and he rapidly transformed into a living spectre made of wild Arcane magic. Terrified, Rhodonite blew all over the Starfall Isles in search of someone who could help him. His help came in the form of Sakura, a sympathetic Spiral who took him back to her clan after hearing his story. Although the clan mages couldn't lift the curse, they did alter it so he could maintain a physical form. Now, Rhodonite changes from his physical and spectral forms as he pleases- although he must be careful around objects that drain magic, lest he be drained himself. He now peacefully lives with the clan, and studies magic with his fellow mages in a much less hostile environment. He now has a dear wife, Grace, and is the proud father of many exalted Arcanites. |
