Since the conception of the clan, Tenderfur wanted it to be a place where like minds could congregate and support one another. Motherly and kind, she invited numerous dragons under her wing. Over time, the clan grew, and members came and went, including the mate with which she had a tumultuous relationship.

One of those days, a clan mage came to her and let her know he had a spell that could turn other dragons into Wildclaws, like he was. Tenderfur thought on it for a time, and then requested the change herself. From a fluffy Tundra, she became a fluffy Wildclaw, with wild colours and spines. She was pleased with these changes, and encouraged any of her followers who felt ill at ease with their bodies to do whatever they needed to to be happy, whether that was finding a spell to change their appearances, or decorating their bodies, or having a pet.

When her ex mate returned, she told him she needed no mate, and had a trusted group of advisors to help her run her clan. He was respectful in rejoining the clan he had founded.

Time passed...

Tenderfur became restless in the Wind territories. She saw the same discomfort among many of her fellows. Since becoming Wildclaws, the terraced lands of the Plateau no longer suited their needs. They longed to run and hunt. There was little concealment in the Windsinger's domain. There was endless bickering among the hunters, warriors, and guards, so much so that the clans Imperials had taken to long flights in the Twisting Crescendo rather than listen to the arguments.

Tenderfur was at a loss. She wanted her clan to stay united and strong. She asked her Imperials to search the lands of Sornieth for somewhere they could be happy. Darion and Tropica agreed to go, and set off on a journey that lasted many days.

When they returned, they came with news. There was a beautiful territory at the cusp of the Tangled Wood and Viridian Labyrinth, the birthplace of the Wildclaws. It had abundant food and cover, an island that could easily be waded to or flown over. Tenderfur trusted her Imperials, her dearest friends and representatives of the Imperials of her clan, chosen by them to speak for the group. She turned to her guard Wraithtalon, a native of the Shadow lands, and asked her opinion.

Wraithtalon admitted that the vales of the Wood were excellent hunting grounds, and she had grown much as a dragon since her hatchling years.

Tenderfur came to her council first. There was agreement that the clan should move. But would everyone agree? There was dissent among the Light dragons, whose natural inclinations made them wary of the Shadow lands. It was suggested that they live on the far side of the island, where the Shadow was weakest and the Labyrinth's breezes had sway. Since the rest of the clan was almost unanimous, they relented. Tenderfur sensed a shift in their mood, and hoped that all would be well.

And so, Tenderfur's clan began the trek to the Tangled Wood.
