Pix's name is derived from the Celtic word pixie, meaning faerie or sprite: a mythical creature believed to be particularly concentrated around South West England. Pixies are usually not winged, and in folklore are known for using their magic to play harmless tricks on wondering souls that they encounter on the Moors.

Pix certainly suits her namesake, despite the fact that she does indeed have a beautiful pair of wings, for she can often be found playing tricks on fellow dragons in her clan. These are always harmless, as Pix is far from malicious, although she has a tendency to be slightly immature for her age, and could even be labelled socially awkward by some. This can result in a lack of awareness about when a joke has been played to its full potential, occasionally leading to unintentional disparity between her and her clan-mates.

Because of this, Pix has become rather accustomed to instead playing with forest friends that tend to gravitate towards her spectacular leaf-plumage. One friend in particular, Floof the percher, has formed a very strong bond with Pix, and the pair are often hard to separate - especially when Pix is planning her next cheeky trick.
