Ayleth hatched from her egg and felt a stirring in her heart. She didn't know what it was or what it meant, but she felt the pull of something bigger than herself. As she grew, her parents who were bards would tell them grand stories about other territories and about the history of Sornieth. The rhythm in their stories was more interesting to her than the words. She began to tell them to herself in different voices and varying speeds. Soon she was singing them whenever she had a moment alone. One day her parents noticed and asked her where she had heard the tune. Although embarrassed having been caught, she told them that she did it herself. What she didn't expect was her parents to explain the gift of the minstrel that she had in her. The music she could create was not a gift all dragons had, and many would love to hear the music within her. Her heart could have burst with pride at that moment. With encouragement from her loved den and family, she set out to learn more music from other minstrels and share her own.
