While the Shardik territory is a peaceful one, it is not entirely without its own dangers. The same arcane energies that benefit the dragons of the clan are also a tempting meal for darker forces. The threat of malevolent spectres and Shade-possession is all too real, but one spiral is always there to combat that threat. Knell is a craggy-scaled enchanter who specializes in placating (or, barring that, exterminating) the restless and agitated spirits who roam the territory. Using spells and herbs and his own Plague magic, he can soothe and banish most any unwanted ghosts and ghouls. Recently, he has taken on Bakir and her bewitched charge as his apprentices. His familiar Samael, the Infestation Hound, assists him in tracking down and apprehending paranormal intruders.
