Sampson

It was hardly a day after the hatchling had arrived in the clan before they found exactly how much of a nuisance he was. Avani found him nibbling at some of her flowers, and patiently removed him from the garden and handed him off to Shihab--Surely the older guardian could at least watch over the child. It didn't take long for Shihab to lose Sampson too, for obvious reasons. Sampson was found sitting among the guardian's shoulder spikes. By this time he was relegated to Kiran's care. She should have taken him from the start, really. He quickly fell asleep nestled among some of the fluffier familiars she had under her watch.

As he grew up, Sampson became fascinated with the workings of the mind. When not speaking to his latest revelation, he pays close attention, hanging on every word in neutral silence. Some of the other dragons, remembering his playful and energetic younger self, find conversations with him somewhat unnerving, but he means well. He is patient and scientific, and at least a little bit embarrassed when the others bring up his history of disruptive behavior.
