Despite relying on the stars for navigation, the clan's sailor would sooner abandon her charge than take any friendly astronomer's advice. Regarded as distant and cold to all but her patchwork crew, Vela and her shadow serpent, Vervain, have earned a reputation as a pair you shouldn't cross. A dragon of few words and even fewer personal ties, her one true charge is the massive ship she heads. When not traveling by sea, the guardian's feet rarely touch the earth.
