"Don't be fooled by the stories. War is not a game." Rosail is an old soldier. He's known the fabled glory of triumph, but he's also known the truer side of war - the side filled with pain and violence. He'll gladly tell tales of victory and adventure, but beneath those stories, there always lies a subtle but stern underline of caution. War is not a game, nor is it glorious. In his youth, Rosail was a daring young warrior. He charged fearlessly into battle, but his cunning curbed his perceived recklessness. He seemed untouchable, brash yet clever, and always so very lucky. Outside of battle, his quiet optimism and polite nature made him a favorite among his fellow soldiers, and his willingness to commit to the dangers of battle made him favored among his superiors. His temper was not so favored, but he controlled it well, more likely to let it loose against enemies than to show it among his peers. In those days, he frequently served in forward advance units or even as a scout. His familiar, a small member mouse, would assist him in clearing landmines so other dragons wouldn't risk injury. They were successful, and the pair were frequently praised for their efforts. Everyone said t would him hurt one day, but it wasn't a mine which claimed Rosail's limbs and ended his career. Instead, he received this grievous injury in a bitter firefight with the enemy. He and his companions were ambushed one dark night, and by the time the sun rose in the east, most of Rosail's unit was destroyed. He and a few others were rescued, but all of the survivors bore the scars of their defeat. In his older years, Rosail has matured into a seasoned tactician. His youthful exuberance has been tempered by defeat, and he's grown an increased sense of caution and practicality. His temper still boils beneath, rarely seen but certainly there, and the brazen energy of his younger years has simmered into a more polished, professional demeanor. He works as a commander for the clan's warriors, always happy to see the young and energetic go into battle for a common cause. He sends them along with certain reservations - he remembers what it feels like to enter a war zone with such enthusiasm. He also knows the sour kiss of defeat, something he hopes to forever shield his soldiers from.
