Gaius eyed the kitchen he had finished setting up- thankfully Korsha had allowed an extension to the cave to incorporate his passion- candy making! I wanted to learn how to create some of the delectables he had found in his, uh, interactions with the beastclans. Yes, friendly interaction, where they gave him sweets and he gave them, well, nothing. They were gifts, totally. He poured out the contents of the bag before him- hmm, Longneck truffles, a specialty of the Shattered Plains. Today he wanted to figure out how to make them himself. First to melt the chocolate- slowly now, don't want to overcook. And add the butter...Hmmm, that sweet, sweet smell...he couldn't resist dipping a claw into the smooth chocolatey goodness. Awww... he danced happily- he couldn't wait to see how these candies would turn out. Now, however, it was time to chill- well, the chocolate at least- placing the bowl into the freezing chamber. Now one of the hardest parts of making candies- waiting. Well, while he waited it wouldn't hurt to have some of the Longneck versions- he would have to compare the two after all. He took one and bit into it- aww, sugar! So smooth, so sweet....Well, he couldn't have just one- Gaius popped another into his mouth. And another. And another. Ten minutes later the melted chocolate was ready and chilled, but Gaius no longer had the comparison chocolates- he had eaten them all. Oh well, he would make the best truffles he could, and they would be even better than the longneck versions! Well, he could hope so... Scatterscroll adventure- Tangerine/Stonewash/Lavender- Caribbean/Green/Carmine- Forest/Obsidian/Rose- Red/Thistle/Goldenrod- Beige/Platinum/Mulberry- Beige/Magenta/Slate- Royal/Beige/Swamp (You really want beige, don't ya?)- Banana/Purple/Leaf- Fire/Storm/Aqua- Storm/Brown/Chocolate- Jungle/Swamp/Obsidian- Soil/Sand/Pink (that tert tho...)- Splash/Carmine/Seafoam- Coral/Fire/Jungle (NO!!!!)-Denim/Seafoam/Thistle (Why do I keep doing this- because I am stubborn...)- Spring/Chocolate/Lemon- wow, just, wow...- Silver/Red/Platinum- Rose/Thistle/Thistle Yes!!!!!

Gaius
Sweet Thief Gaius entered clan Dread soon after Lissa's arrival. He traveled to Dragonhome after learning about the rare and elusive sweets beastclan residents of the shattered plain specialized in. Gaius had traveled long and far, and always followed his sweet tooth. Unfortunately for him, many members of the beastclans did not appreciate Gaius helping himself to their sweet stores, and even with all his stealth ability, sometimes he wouldn't escape unharmed. It was one of these failed escapes that lead Gauis to end up on the doorstep of clan Dread. After a quick heal from Lissa, Gaius was ready to continue on his quest for the best sweets in Sornieth. Unfortunately for him, it was also time for a Talonok attack. Gaius was not without his uses, however, and aided the clan in its defenses. After the battle, Gaius was ready to go, until Korsha showed him some of the spoils from the battle- a giant bag of Talonok chocolates! Korsha let him know that if they ever ran into battle where sweets could be procured, he could have first dibs- Korsha recognized a useful warrior when she saw them. And of course, Gaius recognized a sweet deal when he saw it, and has stayed in the clan ever since. |
