Valentin

Prince Valentin came from a faraway land to the Clan of the Shifting Tides, originally as a world scholar to spend time abroad in the depths of the sea. Five months into his half year visit, he received a hastily-written message in a bottle from his royal scribe saying his kingdom had been demolished by a conquering empire in his absence, and there was no hope in going back at this time. He has since stayed with the clan many moons, and although he feels a part of it, he aspires to one day return to his homeland. He is often seen in the lair with his faithful Spaniel, Rusty. This painting depicts his foretold battle upon which he will have the strength of comets and wisdom of stars to emerge victorious.


Prince Valentin was but an adolescent youth when he left to travel the world for a few years in an attempt to broaden his education. Valentin was the first and only son of the monarchy in his nation and his parents were proud of his courage to go on this journey practically alone, save a few members of the palace and his trusty dog, Rusty.

It had been only 5 months into his stay in the water domain when he received a scribbled note from his parents' official scribe. The parchment read that the kingdom had been overrun by a conquering empire and that the prince was not safe to go home, for there was no home to return to. Valentin couldn't believe the news and in rage, threw the pile of ancient scrolls he'd been tasked to study off his desk. Some were so delicate that they disintegrated in mid air. Before he could be reproached for his behavior, he flew to his chamber and wouldn't come out for two weeks.

When he finally returned from his self-imposed isolation, he had one dream – to someday return home. Prince Valentin studied all he could about battle tactics, historical leaders, strategies, anything he could find to prepare to take back his kingdom. This was a dream he would clutch in his talons forever, for better or worse...
