It's hard to keep your feet planted firmly in the earth when all you want to do is dance among the clouds.
Andraste is a fount of little known astrological knowledge and is always willing to hand out predictions based on how the stars are aligning, what the planets are doing, and various other astronomical phenomenon. It took a long while, but she's managed to acquire a decent sized telescope from the Starfall Isles and spends hours in the tower that was built for her observing things.
Andraste left Dragonhome after she made a pilgrimage to the Pillar of the World and was severely scolded for trying to get to the top to get a better look at the stars. She was told that she must make a living of the Earth as the clan she was born to has done for generations, but Andraste wanted far more than the earth beneath her feet. She left the clan and wandered, getting hopelessly lost in the Viridian Labyrinth as the trees blocked her views of the stars that were supposed to guide her in the proper direction.
She was rescued by Shikka on his way to the Edge of the Wyld holdings from one of his diplomatic missions into the Ashfall Waste and he took her to the caverns. At first she was completely dazzled by the charismatic Fire Rep, but she very quickly found out that Shikka only cared about two things and she wasn't one of them.
After her letdown with Shikka, Andraste threw herself into working on her studies of the stars because there were some extraordinary places for her to watch the sky from buried in the Wyldwood. She negotiated with River to get the funding for an astronomical observatory and managed to win the approval from the notoriously tight-fisted majordomo.
Of late she's been caught keeping company with the gentle, soft-spoken clan mediator, Ahryion. The two don't seem to speak a lot, but there is what appears to be a shared understanding between the two.

Andraste is obviously clan astronomer, reading stars and maybe giving out horoscopes to anyone and everyone, always ranting and raving about how little know stars are lining up, or how one of Jupiter's lesser moons was hit by an asteroid.
