Cold, vengeful and methodical, Tarn is a soft spoken dragon that some have called plain evil. Cruel. Sadistic.

Toying with prey and enemies, giving them a false hope of escape before snuffing out their life force, Tarn is a dragon that is not to be trifled with.

Hailing from the Rotrock Rim, Tarn grew up in a harsh environment; and just as every Plague dragon before him, Tarn was cast from his nest as a hatching left to survive or die as the Plaugebringer saw fit.

In this dragon eat dragon environment, Tarn thrived. Although small in stature, his softer, almost musical voice lulled competition into a false sense of security before destroying them.

But the Plaugebringer's territory is a parlous place and even the strong fall; and Tarn is no different. After becoming lost in the Abiding Boneyard for several months, Tarn was near dead when he accidentally found himself wandering the Windswept Plateau.

Out of his mind with starvation and sickness, Tarn hadn't a clue where he was or how he ended up in the Windswept Plateau. Daenerys, a high born Nature Skydancer, found him wandering aimlessly on one of her trips with Banner to visit his birthclan.

Not knowing his reputation, Daenerys brought Tarn to her adoptive clan for care, where Onslaught knew who Tarn was. Not wanting to care for such a dangerous dragon, Onslaught at first wanted to cast the Plague dragon out and let the fires of the Flamecaller claim his life.

Daenerys, kind hearted, did not want Tarn's blood on their clans claws, and argued on behalf of the Wildclaw's life, vowing to care for him until such a time he could care for himself once more, taking full responsibility for him.

It was only after that he woke, still weak and sick, did Tarn find out what happened and how close to death he had been; and it had only been the kindness of the Lady Daenerys that he survived. Yet, now that Daenerys saved his life, he now owes her a blood debt and will follow her everywhere she goes to protect her.

Although Tarn does not blame Onslaught for wanting to cast him out, as he would have done the same, there is an uneasy trust between the two alphas. Tarn will not leave Daenerys, despite his cruel nature and Onslaught's trust in his healer's opinion to keep him from tossing Tarn into the FlameCaller's fires.

Tarn knows Daenerys is kind and loving, and he is constantly surprised by such acts, fascinate by them. Even the simplest act of kindness draws Tarn to Daenerys like a moth to the flame, and he will do anything to preserve that kindness. Protecting it from all who would try to bury it, and for that Onslaught is grateful for Tarn's presence in his clan, accepting him as one of them. Protecting him from outsides who would see him dead.

Yet, sometimes Tarn despises his new clan and the softness they have begun to bring out in him. He has spent years being cruel and vindictive, and suddenly feelings and emotions he never thought he had have suddenly been thrust upon him.

One such act of mercy, that Tarn knows he never should have shown, was rescuing the skinless hatchling Viscera from The Wandering Contagion. Not caring how or even if Viscera's clan was destroyed, Tarn took the Plaugebringer's subspecie under his wing and into their clan to be raised next to his last remaining hatchling, Morningstar.

Tarn knows it was Daenerys that brought this changes out in him, and although he can not bare to say it out loud, he loves his little Nature high born with all his black heart, risking even being forsaken by his Goddess, his mother, The PlagueBringer, for loving a kin of her enemy. Yet he knows one day, they will both serve The Mother of Fire, the FlameCaller herself instead of their own Goddesses.

Although still cold and cruel to outsiders, Tarn is part of the Wildclaw team that is the last line of defense for Onslaught's clan, and although he does not like saying it aloud, he loves Daenerys and is fond of the clan he is now apart of.
