ABOUT;
He was born in a nest adorned with shimmering pebbles, shards of mineral and sea glass worn and molded by the ocean over a thousand years into smooth stones, possessing a jewel-like quality. They resembled his scales, glittering and perfect, and the scales of his brother and sister, born before him. While his siblings took in their surroundings and focused their eyes upward at the swell rolling overhead, entranced by the pull of the ocean, Eran became fascinated by those stones. In their depths he saw all kinds of movement — the reflection of the sun, of the waves, of faceless figures whispering in tones so soft he could barely make them out — but when he tried to pick one up and show his mother, there came no cries of wonder from his throat, no matter how he tried.

Eran came into this world without a voice and has lived his entire life making hardly a sound. He has spent years honing his silence and learning the ways of those who wish to pass unseen - assassins, spies, and thieves, but also of ghosts, as Eran has a tendency to appear out of nowhere, like he just stepped out of a wall. As a result of this training he is an adept at sneaking around, but he finds there is rarely any need to resort to underhanded tactics and eavesdropping, for Eran knows all the lies and truths of this world and keeps them on the tip of his tongue at all times, yet is unable to speak them.

It was early in his life that he discovered this ability to see things in the water that his siblings could not - visions of events yet to come, often of the terrible kind that would make Eran uneasy for days. Late at night, his mother would find him thrashing in his bed, plagued by nightmarish omens. The death of a clan member, or a terrible sickness that would come from the north to blight the land, or a Beastclan attack— Eran would bear witness to these prophecies even if he tried not to look for them, as though they sought him out, clamoring for his attention, warning. Once, he saw a companion's end reflected in his very scales just after he had swam the depths of the river, and the drip of water droplets off his body felt sticky and thick, like blood.

No one believed him, at first. At least not until the events he foretold fell upon them and they realised he was right.

Ever the whispers tease at the very edges of his hearing, his shadow twisting, his reflection warped and wrong and his eyes, pale and melancholy, staring ahead with solemn malaise. His gift is a heavy burden but Eran endeavours to guide those who are afflicted but cannot find their own ends. He paces in his temple, through the quiet halls and around the banks of its many shallow pools, alone yet not alone, yet lonely. The obscure figures in the depths of his scrying bowls are often his only company. Haunted at all times by glimpses of violent ends, Eran keeps his distance from most and watches from afar, and though he never says a word, the weight of his troubled gaze speaks loud and clear.
