 Son of the leader of the cult of Sweet Sickness and a hapless guardian, who got in way over her head, Murus is different from the other cult children. Cunning and manipulative, he slithers through the loopholes and bends rules to get what he wants.

Murus was brought up in the cult ways, as are all hatchlings of the members, but his inoculation into the cult was interrupted when he and her sister stumbled upon Outclaw. Outclaw, who herself was from a similar background, had no love for the cult mentality and took the two under her wing, in a way. She had no qualms about questioning the absolute rules of the cult, or poking holes into the irrefutable facts they were taught. Outclaw openly mocked the leaders of the cult and all they held holy, laughing in the face of the threats this earned her. Being exposed to this jolly irreverence made sure that Murus never would grow into as good a little cultist as he was supposed to.

Despite his doubts and disillusion, Murus knows better than to try and rebel against his father and the cult. So he sits through the cermons, performs the rituals and shows no sign of being anything but another obedient follower of the glorious Bringer of Plague. Not that he is completely above the influence of the way of the Sweet Sickness, he would find no qualm in culling the weak if it came to it. He just wants to do it his own way, not just as a blind sheep in the flock. He just needs to get out in the world to do it.
