Specter Vault Keeper - Treasurer Guarded | Composed | Dangerous Only Abaddon, Hellion and Asleif know of what he truly is. They had sworn an oath to him and to themselves that they would never speak of what he is to any within or outside the Empire itself. For if anyone knew wars would be waged and raids would ravage the quiet Keep. They only know that despite all laws, Specter is delivered the first meals of the day and that only the Lord, or the Queen may enter the vault where he resides. Even they fear him, and for good reason. See he may seem like a mere small hatchling to everyone else but the dark secret that is known and hidden is that he is anything but. He was found as a small three-headed emperor a hatchling emperor. However with some twisted magic he has grown over the many years. |

I was found as a small wandering hatchling, my two brothers had bickered as to where we should wander. We were ravenous, starving and hadn't found anything in the wastes of the Plague-Lands. Yet we all felt something hit us in the back, we turned to look and there was a single coin. I tilted my head up and noticed two imperials flying over, one dived down looking at us. I don't think they saw our true form just yet. When they got closer they veered off a ways, and a female imperial cautiously made her way over to us. Confused and ravenous we sat down and bickered over what to do. The female approached us closer - realizing we didn't have the coordination to do anything much, less fight ourselves. "Do you like it?" She replied softly in a motherly tone. It pulled at my heart, I hadn't seen mother in ages. We nodded dumbly. "You can have it I suppose." The male Imperial made his way over and noted that we relished over this coin. When he tried to reach for it we snapped at him. "Mmm, you are protective of it." He spoke. We put it beneath us and stood over it in the best terrifying posture we could muster and hissed. "I can give you a job, and we can feed you but there is one rule you must listen to." My brothers perked up. "You must never leave the lair we give you." They both seemed puzzled but we agreed as long as we got to keep the coin. We were flown back by the female considering we all felt lulled by her gentle singing, and we returned to the lair but they flew quickly to a secret area - barking at their guards to prevent anyone from coming any closer as we made our way down a tunnel. This is where we saw our only lair and parts of the Empire itself. We saw nothing more. |

With Abaddon, Hellion and Asleif we have all come to an agreement. I would be allowed to guard the one thing precious to the entire Empire itself and all I ask in return is to be granted two illusions, they would of course siphon slowly at my life-force which was innumerable years. The first illusion is that I would be invisible to all the clan if any had dared to venture in here by mistake while my new prison/lair was being constructed around me. The second illusion was that if any did somehow enter into my lair that all they would see is a harmless looking little hatchling sitting on the pile of wealth the Empire grew. These were my only requests, for my own protection and that of the Keep's. They hastily made agreements with me though that I would be the first to consume the harvests that happened daily to make sure I would never grow hungry and destroy them myself. Which I agreed to, another was that if I required I could get a small interaction with a few clan-members if they only remained at the door and never entered the vault itself. Which I inclined to - talking to my siblings without any interaction would grow boring over the centuries that I remain here. Sometimes the odd clan-mate will feel pity seeing a hatchling all alone on top of the wealth gathered here and would feel compelled to give me a few trinkets to my name, but I admire their compassion. They have shown me camaraderie and it flatters me so, but I remind them to never step past the provided boundary. Mostly for their own safety and on the odd time I would see the Empire Guards enforce this - they know not why they enforce it but they are smart enough not to ask questions. Most of the time I sit here and protect the treasures, my true form circles the entire lair, but regardless no one really needs to know this. |
