Laiya is the daughter of Coli healer and pyromancer Jacinto, and meat chef Nebula. She is Algernon's partner, and as such she's a rather prominent member of the clan.

From the moment she hatched, it was clear Laiya had an affinity for beasts. Creatures that were otherwise unruly and aggressive seemed to calm in her presence, even as a tiny hatchling, and as she grew the effect appeared to strengthen. Of course it was natural for her to take up the mantle of Familiar Minder, and she excelled and continues to excel in her role.

Laiya essentially acts as a childminder for the clan's community of unbonded Familiars and occasionally visiting Beastclan individuals. She nurtures, cares and provides for them, ensuring their wellbeing and cooperation. Whilst this certainly benefits the creatures themselves, it is also in the interest of security and peace - a happy and content Familiar, bonded or otherwise, is also compliant and well-behaved.

Laiya lives among her "flock" in some of the most generous quarters (of course, they need the space), and spends most nights nuzzled up with the cuddliest, friendliest individuals. Others may enter her domain, however one must tread very carefully - her companions share a close bond with her and each other, and they will not tolerate animosity.

Despite her horde of intimidating companions, Laiya herself is incredibly sweet-natured. She adores cute, pink things and her closest Familiar is usually the one she thinks is most adorable. She shares Kila's love of lace and frills, and the two occasionally have primping sessions.
