Cel has come far. Far from his role in the Whirlwind Battle. A near fatal shot evaded because his datemate had enough sense to block it for him. They escaped with their lives, albeit barely.

They laid low for a few months, repairing their broken skeletons. Parts do not come easy for clockworks and healing takes a while. Learning how to act human took even more time. Many more months. Cel and Aeris worked as mercs for hire before Scarlet finally found them. Wary of a second confrontation with the pirate ruler, Cel and Aeris backed off.

Scarlet had no intention of causing trouble though, and when Cel realized this he requested amnesty from Scarlet for him and his partner. Scarlet granted his request a little reluctantly, but the three of them have been living in an uneasy peace ever since.

Who knows? With time Cel and Aeris may even grow to respect her.
