While most other dragons in the clan were born in different clans and flights, Asteria was born in Emerald falls. As such she had no life changing misadventure, and no real tragedy that changed her while she was growing up.

Hher life changing misadventure started after she was fully grown, and began when a black and gold imperial named Skulduggery was pulled through the Towering Undergrowth and landed rather unceremoniously in the clan. At the time she was apprenticed to become a medic. A profession which she did not dislike, but it did not make her fully happy either.

When Skulduggery was brought to Asteria, she knew exactly what to do to remove the paralytic poison. It was one of the first things she was taught. As soon as Skulduggery was able to speak and move again, he started talking about his garden, and the reason he came. He seemed terrified, and rightly so. An unexpected run in with the Undergrowth is shaking enough, but now word of Skulduggery’s arrival had spread through the clan and the guard had arrived to make sure the newcomer did not step out of line. Through his stutters and terror, Asteria found that his descriptions of the garden made her happy. Happier than she had felt in a long time.

As a gardener, Asteria is very happy. After Skulduggery decided to stay for a while to study the unique plants found in the glade, Asteria became apprenticed to him, and not long after her training was completed they became mates.

While Skulduggery studies the Undergrowth, Asteria takes care of and documents notable plant life in the area. The both of them collect seeds and are taking care of a small garden. With the help of a few other dragons, they do their best to make the healthiest flowers possible. Part of that, is taking care of invasive weeds and unwanted plants. Asteria’s magic is not capable of killing, and Skulduggery’s has been suppressed for so long that it is not strong enough to kill the invasive weeds. Luckily, they get Eheyra to help out.

Asteria’s favorite of the flowers is a simple rose bush, though it is unique to the glade. The buds were pure white, but the flowers were a vibrant pink on the inside. It seemed that this bush had the most problem attracting invasive weeds and harmful bugs. Asteria couldn’t get rid of them on her own, so she asked Eheyra to do it for her, which Eheyra was happy to do. However, the next time that Asteria touched the bush, the flowers latched onto her. Vines dug into her and invaded her body. Leaves began to sprout, and skeletal roots grew from her. The plague magic that accidentally turned the plant into a parasite. It was determined that the flower would feed off Asteria’s life force, and eventually invade her entire body. At this news, the clan broke out into a major fight. Many of the nature born members wanted Eheyra gone, they thought she was a danger. Other more extreme dragons wanted all dragons that were not born to a nature clan gone. Asteria on the other hand, never blamed Eheyra.
