AUGUR
The Harpy Barbarian (Mad Dog Build, Fan Race)
A Harpy Barbarian (boasting a beautiful complexion and rather curvaceous figure, though…was…well…bird brained) on a routine scavanging mission for her Clan with her Giant Lammergeier companion, Lemms, were interrupted one day during their lunch break, by an attack by a hungry Catfolk. The Catfolk attacked Lemms, sending Augur into a murderous rage, after all…Lammergeiers were not only holy symbols to Clan Hellscream, but she had raised the massive creature from an egg. Just before she was about to claw out his eyes and throw him over the cliff, The Catfolk's party appeared and attempted to stop the vicious retaliation. At the time, their only thoughts were of saving the eyes of their most precious ranged weapon master, and so they told Augur of "a group of individuals…killing all the Lammergeier chicks…" that they would like her help in destroying. Naturally…Augur couldn't refuse.
And so she became part of the Party. The Catfolk was a Ranger(?) named Neo. There was a Half Orc Cleric whose mustache was beyond compare, who worshiped the Great Mustashicus. There were others…but she would never know any of them as well as she would come to know Chard-root, the Oakling Oracle with a strangely naive demeanor and an even stranger ability to wield green flame. She didn't trust them at first…Her closest friend being Chard-root…but only because she would often forget he was actually alive (like I said…she is pretty dumb)…and she would often perch upon him to rest. Chard-root didn't bother to correct her. Then something happened that would change her life forever…
During Battle…she was felled…as she slipped off into the dark, awaiting the gates of Valhalla to open for her, where she would battle with her mighty flail forever more and the screams of her opponents would be her only wonderful chorus…she was ripped back into life by none other then Chard-root himself. You see, Clan Hellscream and most Harpy Clans held an unbreakable law, one which stated…that if one was to die in battle, that would be the most honored death, but if one was resurrected…from death, they had taken life from the one who roused them, thus in order to repay the debt, said resurrected Harpy would belong solely to the person who awoke them. If their charge died, they would immediately end their own life, as to continue after a charge had expired would be considered stealing life, and they would be ostracized from Harpy culture entirely…a fate worse then death for many. Augur was now bound to Chard-root until her last breath…and Chard-root was completely oblivious.
They would continue many adventures together as a party, Lemms and Augur not far from Chard-root, as Augur refused to be away from him, unless Lemms stayed with the Oakling. The adventure that truly changed their relationship, would be truly devastating for Augur.
Augur was homesick, and expressed it to her Party members one day, saying she would like to see her children…
"WAIT…you're a MOM?" Shareeb the Cleric asked incredulously.
"Yes. It's expected to expand the flock once one becomes able…for the good of the clan. Safety in numbers…"
"UH….How many do you HAVE?"
"Five."
"FIVE?! HOW OLD IS YOUR OLDEST?!"
…more to come...
