D E S C R I P T I O N
WHEN YOU'RE FREE - - - The problem with desert dwellers, such as most of the Mothgraves' inhabitants, is that they are incredibly badly equipped for cold climates. Birch and sunspot, who do most of the gathering around Sornieth, are both not adapted to the harsh temperatures of the southern icefields. This is where Lacebark comes in. Lacebark left his clan of birth in the hopes of escaping their curse, and sought help from the Mothgraves healers. When everything they tried proved ineffective, he undertook the painful ordeal of breed changing as a rather desperate last measure. So far, it seems to have helped, although changing from Coatl to Tundra came with its own set of challenges, such as having to relearn to speak, heavy memory loss, and constant discomfort due to the dry, static-charged climate. Lacebark is not really fit for living on his own, and doesn't feel comfortable looking for a clan to call home because of the social and physical handicaps his new form bring with them. So he stuck around the Mothgraves awkwardly, sweaty and itchy and miserable, until someone (probably Fall) told him that they're in dire need of various plants that only grow in the Ice territories, and maybe he could take care of the gathering? For now, working as a gatherer suits him just fine, as he adjusts to his new form and learns how to deal with the psychological side-effects. |
