Perry

You've been waiting by the door for a while, and you're starting to wonder whether this lair's "Tricks and Treats Here!" sign is a lie when you hear a terrific crash from inside. Suddenly the door is yanked open and you are face-to-face with an energetic female Spiral. She's wearing a clearly homemade mummy costume and has a large Ruby Webwing perched on her shoulder. It shoots her a dirty look as she begins to speak.
"Merlin, you bad bird, you! Look what you've done! You've knocked over that bookcase and now I'll have to go and get-". She stops mid-sentence as she notices you, and a wide grin appears on her face. "Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry! How long have have you been- never mind, come inside! I'm Perry." She gestures frantically as she leads you inside the cave. As you walk, you notice a large bookcase lying splintered on the ground. Several other dragons are trying to fix it, though one, a large Ridgeback female, gets a splinter. She roars in pain, kicks the bookcase violently, then roars agains as her foot starts to swell.
"Come on!" Perry grabs you and starts pulling you through the rest of the lair. "We're almost there!" She finally stops at a beaded curtain, panting for breath, and you hear sounds of birds coming from inside. You pull open the curtain and gaze in wonder at a huge room, open to the sky, filled with literally hundreds of birds.
"Welcome," Perry says, still breathing hard, "to my room. Now I know I put that somewhere around here..." She looks around, then jumps into a barrel of birdseed and starts digging. You hear her mumbling to herself, "Is it in this barrel? Or is it in in number 42? I can never remember- Aha!" she exclaims aloud, triumphantly holding up a gift box.
She hands it to you with an mischievous grin, asking, "Is it a trick? Or a treat? You'll never know until you open it..."



"Whew, sorry that took so long! I had a little trouble finding all the birds in the aviary. Then I had to moderate a debate between some Water and Wind dragons because I asked if penguins were birds. The Water dragons insisted that penguins AREN'T birds because they swim, not fly, and the Wind dragons insisted they ARE because they have beaks and wings. It was finally settled by our avian keeper, but WOW I did not realize that was such a touchy subject! ...good thing I didn't ask my follow-up question about owlcats and sparrowmice."
