the glimmering king
Lukian doesn't know who his parents are. One of the Ones With No Lineage, he cannot trace his bloodlines at the massive scrying tables or go visit his mother and father. What he can do, however, is snuggle up at Loki's side and breathe a sigh of relief after the sun has set.
He was found by the Gilded King as a little wayward egg. Lukian remembers tumbling out onto hard ground and feeling a massive cold as the safety of his egg fell away. But, as soon as he opened his little pink eyes and looked into Loki's deep green ones, Lukian knew he was home. The hatchling instantly found his charge. Warmth shot through his blood and he wiggled excitedly, moving closer to the great black dragon who brought him into the world.
The months passed and Lukian grew into adulthood, always gravitating close to the flank of his great protector Loki. They go about their lives as any other two dragons - they bond on hunting trips and on Council meetings, balancing one another's personalities and making sure they guide the clan on the right path.
Years after settling into the clan, Lukian experienced an event that changed his bodyform. After making a visit to Hauki to try to offer her some kind of comfort, he was cast into the netherworld with the demon. The entirety of the clan rallied by his side, including his mate and fellow king, Loki. Aurumael was the only saving grace of Lukian, calling his spirit forth from the beyond. However in doing so, Lukian became enlightened with his past and all the lives he leads separately - but entirely at the same time. The weight of this Enlightenment shifted him into a different form entirely.
Lukian adopted a different name, coming back from the realm of the spirits. His smaller form is dwarfed by Loki, but provides no hindrance to the two. Lukian settles on Loki's back, regaling him with stories of the things that he saw - the lives that the two lived in different universes, different bodies, but always together.
In his Guardian form, Lukian was a skilled warrior. But in his new body, Lukian found a swelling within him that answered to the more arcane. He has taken to studying illusion and conjuration magic under Priestess and even dabbling in Aurumael's channeling arts. Lukian has taken to mentoring the young Akihiko, learning alongside him in the arts of magic.
