You made it thus far, and now I will not say whether that is fortunate or unfortunate. It is what it is.

Now then, in thirty seconds I will begin attempting to kill you for five minutes.

You see, the Scarred Wasteland is little more than an exhilarating warm-up. Whatever tried to kill you out there did so because that was little more than its function. It's -heh- nature. You have passed through happenstance to face intent.

In five seconds, your life depends entirely on how well you can dodge.

To look at Vorachax now, one would assume that the savage mirror was as native to the Scarred Wasteland as his mate, Jhortanas. The only way this could possibly be further from the truth is if his birthplace had been within the Beacon of the Radiant Eye.

It is a fact that if one brings up the fact that the mirror is from the Starfall Isles -specifically the Starwood Strand- Vorachax will either grumble resentfully, or attempt to maul the speaker until they are reduced to a whimpering lump. The level of reaction is entirely dependent upon how powerful the offending speaker is.

Vorachax was taught from a young age to look to the stars, to study the surrounding cosmos and to question always where his place in it was. From an equally young age, he was readily certain that his place in the world was certainly not under the tutelage of the weak and spindly Fae, and that the vast beyond held no relevance if he could not explore it in person.

As soon as he was strong enough to roam beyond the Arcanist's territory on his own, he struck out, journeying south towards the Scarred Wasteland.

To say that Vorachax's early days in the Scarred Wasteland were everything he could have hoped for would be a mistake. He was unprepared for the dangers of the very land itself, and within days of venturing into the wandering Contagion, soon found himself infected with two viruses and a struggling with a bizarre parasite that latched itself onto his back and began sprouting an extra limb from his shoulder.

Eventually he collapsed roughly half a mile into the Abiding Boneyard, and it was in this state that Jhortanas found him.

When he awoke, Vorachax was surprised to not only find himself alive, but in the care of the priestess who had found him. Though scarred, he was healing, and the strange parasite that had previously been fused to his upper arm had now been affixed to the female Mirror who watched over him.

It was during this time that he learned he was considered the Vilx-Shaj-Corix, the Godfang.

A goblin emissary sent forth by the Plaguebringer, Gortharin is now a constant companion to Vorachax, aiding him both in combat and the training of young dragons. His savage tendency to attack other familiars at random is perhaps an unconscious lesson for his dragon ally, as Vorachax has to be the voice of reason when it comes to preventing the small goblin from attacking something the size of a Hydra or a Wartoad.
