Crafted over years of delicate research and work, Raiden was brought into existence by dragons of the Lightning flight. Created with the essence of a deceased Imperial who defended his clan bravely, he was expected to carry on their likeness.

The day he whirred to life was a day of celebration. Raiden was considered a modern marvel, a proof that Lightning could use technology to create anything, including life. Fully responsive, exhibiting cognitive abilities, most every test was passed with flying colors. Held on a pedestal by his clan, he was pampered and spoiled.

However, as time went on, his wires began to fray... Random shut-downs and crashes became more common. He could no longer perform the basic gathering tasks he was assigned to. Faster he deteriorated, unaware of what was going on, and was slowly deemed a failure.

Now a reminder of their failure, he was shut away from his clan, cast to wander the desert alone. His robotic and strange cries rattle the air, begging for clans to allow him in, though his strange nature and smell deter them.

After a long travelled path of loneliness, he stumbled into the nest of a young, accepting Guardian named Akuma, who offered him a place to finally rest his weary body and to stop his saddened cries.
"Here, in this clan, we are all Misfits," she stated happily. "Welcome to the Scarred Wasteland, sir."
As he stepped into the new land, the Plague's energies filled his circuits and he began to recover his functionality. Akuma set out in search of a dragon who would join her clan and who could repair Raiden to his former glory.

His wings aren't fully functional as wings; instead, they act as dual solar panels to provide energy for his body. He can achieve a little distance off of the ground with them, but not quite enough to go anywhere.
