Disclaimer: This dragon's bio was written before the beastclans lore revision and before I was aware of the real life parallels present in their original lore. As a POC affected by colonialism, I obviously don't condone the old lore now that I can see the problems with it and want to adjust Celeste's lore to something more appropriate. I will be making these revisions in the near future, but in the meantime, the original bio will be here to use as a starting point. (tl;dr: ya boi is filipino, colonialism bad)

Paladin, Protector of Hatchlings and the Pearlless

In perhaps the most adorable relationship with Astrology and Lilac, and is the moon of the trio. The three of them are very much into fancy aesthetic stuff and like to speak in an elevated manner, but amongst themselves, they loosen up and are quite playful. No one outside of their circle will ever see that side of them.

While most of Celeste's hatchlings have grown up healthily and left the clan to serve the Arcanist or to find new adventures, one of her children was the sole casualty of a beastclans raid, having been playing outside at the wrong time. One of the invaders tried to take its pearl, but she brutally killed them, taking back the pearl before they could get away and keeping it with her in memory of her fallen hatchling.

As a result of this incident, she is a fiercely protective mother, keeping close watch over her children and making sure they all know how to fend for themselves. She will not hesitate to slaughter a dragon seen harming a child, feeling not even a shred of remorse for her victims. She also harbors a deep hatred for the beastclans, regarding the tamed beastclan familiars of the clan with disdain.

Her loathing for the beastclans runs so deep that she will capture beastclan trespassers in secret and have them boiled down into silver muck, which she collects and refines into a strange shimmery substance. This substance is then used to add layers onto her dead hatchling's pearl. The child never had a chance to imbue its pearl with its life and memories, so the beastclans must atone by contributing their own lives to the pearl. Additionally, Celeste's familiar was specially crafted out of the muck made from her hatchling's killers.

As of recently, Celeste has begun making artificial pearls from silver muck, keeping them around in case any pearlcatchers who have lost their pearl show up.
