She was just a hatchling when she noticed the stars. Their shape, their brightness, the way they changed in the sky. It fueled her with something she couldn't understand. There was so much mystery in the glimmering stones above.
"What are they?" She'd ask the elders around her, but they all refused to answer. Some even turned away, ignoring the boisterous question. She ran, person to person, asking the same question. "What are they? What are stars?"
