Illumius was born to Caolan and Moirin of the Light Flight. He was a smaller Welp, and needed more time to get used to his wings. He was awkward and clumsy when he first started out. His parents encouraged him to keep going until he was finally able to keep up with his siblings. He was a very curious young Welp and could often times be found reading books and scriptures. He was very interested in the way of Rouge Dragons; Dragons who went out on their own to fight for Flights that hired them. He was interested in Mercenary work. This concerned his mother, who was scared of losing any of her children. His father had spoken to Illumius about his mother's concerns and he had promised to not pursue mercenary work.

This promise didn't last long, for Illumius grew to enjoy stealth work. In his teachings, he was always the first Welp to finish their objective and was very quick about doing so. As he got older, he grew to be much more agile than the other Welps in his class and always volunteered to be the stealth runner in their games. His love for the roguish lifestyle was apparent and the older he got, the more he was called to the lifestyle. Finally, when he reached adulthood he was ready to take the next step in his life. He was going to leave and work for other Flights. It was what he had always wanted to do.

"Son. You promised your mother and I." His father had said.

"I know Father, but I can't ignore this! I don't belong in the Light Flight solely. I need to see the world! Other Flights may need my help." He proclaimed.

"You can't just leave your Flight!" His father's voice grew more stern. Illumius stared at is Father. He knew what he must do, and if his parents didn't support him, when then he'd have to show him.

"I am leaving, parents. Please. Just accept it." He gave them a quick hug and flew off. He knew that that would hurt his Mother, but he couldn't just sit here when his knew his calling was
elsewhere.

Taking to the sky, he began his long journey out of Light Flight. The days before him would prove to be more difficult then he thought. Most of the flights that he visited didn't need help, nor did they want his help. Many times he tried to help only to be rejected. After so many, he began to question his ability. After landing in a small alcove that was filled with small merchants, Illumius walked the paths, his head low.

"You're doing it wrong, kid." A voice came from a dark alleyway. Illumius jumped and looked into the darkness.

"Who said that?"

"I did." The voice came again from behind him, causing the Nocturne to whip around, his tail grabbing the hilt of his small blade. He came face to face with a small, black Fae. "Don't move." The Fae demanded.

"Where did you come from?" Illumius asked, his blade flickering in the light.

The Fae laughed, "It's where you want to come from. You want to be quick, right?" The Fae asked, almost in a mocking tone. "You want to be hired to help with the weird stuff, the sneaky stuff, the stuff that is top secret right?" He asked, smiling.

"How---"

"I have been following you, Welp. For some time now. You have skill. You just need to stop doubting yourself. And stop trying so hard. I can teach you." Blunt, but precise. That was how he rolled.

Illumius let out a small huff and looked at the Fae before him, "Who are you?"

"I'm your salvation kid. C'mon." He wrapped his skinny tail and wrapped it around Illumius' neck, pulling him with it. For a small Fae, he was rather strong.

For two years, the Fae and Illumius worked, lived and practiced together. Illumius learned a lot and sent many letters to his family to show of his success. After two years, it was time for the Fae to move on.

"This is the life of a Rouge Illumius. We travel." That had been the last time that Illumius saw the Fae.

After another year of miscellaneous work from different Flights, Illumius had come across a peculiar clan in the Fire Flight; The Clan of Rising Flames. Covalt, the leader had asked him to aid him in accruing different materials for their Shadow Dragon. Curious as to why, he had stuck around a little longer to see what the Clan would use it for. A Dragon named DarkEve used this ingredients to make potions and to create salves for the Clan. They had then traded the Salves for Treasure. It was unique and the first time that he had seen a Clan make something for profit. All the ones that he had seen only profited off the wars or battles they had been in.

When the job was over, Illumius was reluctant to leave. This Clan seemed rather interesting and he wanted to know more about his ways. He had approached Covalt about this.

"You want to stay?" Covalt's deep voice rumbled in his dark cave.

"Y-Yes, please. I really like this Clan."

"Why?"

"It's unique and fun. Please. I can work for free. I can keep doing mercenary work." He offered.

Covalt was silent for what felt like forever. When he finally spoke, he spoke of the morals and values of The Clan of Rising Flames. Illumius had to agree to uphold these and he could stay. Illumius, happy to oblige, jumped in joy and flew out. He was officially a Rising Flames Dragon!
