Firstborn of a trio stricken by an illness that hardens feathers and fur to a crystalline structure. Despite his prickly appearance, Zyk constantly seeks to express his softer side--whether it be through his taste in jewelry or through personal charm. He endeavors to set himself apart from his siblings despite the fact that the three of them team up to supply meat for the clan or scout new areas.

He's disappointed in his physical state. Being covered in sharp points does not make finding a mate easy, and it burns him inside to know many find him undesirable. The blow to his innate grace as a Skydancer does not help, either, as the crystalline growths render him grounded. He falls in love fast and with great intensity, most who know him can describe him in states of love and desolation.
