Meteor

Meteor and his brother Starfall were born during Starfall Celebration and some members of the clan joke about how they hatched with their eyes on the sky. Luckily for them, their parents got on well enough to encourage their interests (at Wayfarer's Rest, hatchlings parents aren't always mates). Their father, Endymion, is an amateur astronomer and enjoyed teaching his sons all he could about the stars and planets that wandered the night sky, but eventually they had to turn to their mother for more knowledge.

Ganna had no interest in the skies, but what she did have was an extensive network of connections within her spy ring and was able to utilize these to procure scrolls and books from the Starfall Isles that the two young pearlcatchers to use. However, the fact that she did this for them she used to her advantage to coax them into participating in her lessons as well.

As a result, the two brothers grew up learning the secretive arts of deception. Starfall was less interested in his mother's work, and when he became Arcane Chosen for the clan, he preferred to shift his attention to being a proper ambassador, even if that role still requires reporting to Ganna.

Meteor also distanced himself from his mother's ring, but unlike his brother, he did so because he enjoyed the work too much. Rather than actively participating in information gathering and secret keeping for the benefit of Wayfarer's Rest, he preferred to keep all the information for himself and become an individually working information broker. He's even made his own secret code based on the stars and planets and their movements that Ganna refuses to admit publicly that she can't break.
